St. Louis Cardinals Lance Berkman to visit the doctor on Friday with persisting knee issue – MLB

The St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Lance Berkman said on Thursday, August 2, that he will have to see the doctor to find out the issue with his right knee. The Cardinals’ first baseman had only had his knee surgery two months ago.
The player was seen limping off in Thursday’s game against the Colorado Rockies while grounding out. Thursday was not a particularly good day for the Redbirds as the team not only lost the game by 8-2, they also saw the player heavily wrapped with ice as the game concluded.
Berkman could not also live up to the expectations of the team as he went 0-for-4. All that can be attributed to the knee issue that he has been encountering this season. But all said, he intends to visit Dr. George Paletta on Friday.
"It's just not a perfect knee," he said. "I've been scanned, zapped more than most players, probably, in that particular part of the body. I'll let the doctor look at it and see what he thinks."
Everything shall be clear after the visit to the doctor in St. Louis. It is pertinent to mention here that Berkman had a procedure performed on the right knee. The whole procedure was to treat the torn meniscus and the loose cartilage.
There will be a lot that the Cardinals’ first baseman has to address in the days to come as the injury does not seem to be going away easily. After coming from the disabled list, Berkman has had an average of .182.
"Life with a balky knee is just some days it feels OK, some days it doesn't," Berkman said. "There's certainly times on this road trip when I haven't felt great. There's been times where I've felt pretty good. It's just hit or miss."
Nonetheless, the player did seem somewhat optimistic about the future despite the recent setbacks. Should the team decide to send him to disabled list, Allen Craig shall replace him.
When he visits his doctor on Friday, he – along with the team, will be hoping that everything is alright since it will allow the player to keep his focus on the upcoming games, not another stint in the disabled list.
