St. Louis Cardinals’ Tony La Russa buoyed as David Freese looks forward to Game 7 – MLB Update
The St. Louis Cardinals’ manager Tony La Russa on Thursday felicitated his team for a marvellous 10-9 victory over the Texas Rangers and stated that they did not quit trying despite trailing five times in Game 6 of the World Series.
With the scintillating performance that kept every viewers glued to the televisions and held the spectators attention endlessly captive at the ballpark, the Cardinals substantiated their credentials as the most resilient of teams in the history of baseball.
Among the whole side that represented the Cardinals on Thursday, it was David Freese who stunned all and sundry with his feat twice in the game. With his 9th and 11th inning stunts, he proved the flair that he still has.
With the amazing performance that Freese had, he commented that he was now looking forward to Game 7 of the World Series that will determine the fate of both teams.
"We fought back," Freese said. "We made some mistakes early on, but the way we've all been playing lately, you expect to come back like this. This is just a good feeling, and I'm pumped we're playing tomorrow."
Cardinals had little chance, so it seemed, in the game to stage a comeback. However, throughout Game 6, not even for a fraction of second did it look that the team was giving up. They fought and prevailed at the end.
That was something that Tony La Russa referred to.
"What happened today, I just think it's -- you had to be here to believe it," Cardinals’ manager Tony La Russa said. "We never quit trying. I know that's kind of corny, but the fact is we never quit trying."
After going down 3-2 and being almost obliterated in Game 6 as well, the Cardinals made a sudden ascent in the game, recovering from the deficit five times and then winning the game 10-9. With Game 7 scheduled for Friday, it will be a grand finale of unprecedented
proportions. Whoever wins will surely go down in history as one of the most accomplished of all teams.
