St. Louis Cardinals confident ahead of their final clash in NLCS –MLB Update
St. Louis Cardinals are feeling quite confident ahead of their final clash against the San Francisco Giants on Monday, October 22 at AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.
"There are two teams in the same boat right now. You'll see two teams go out and give it everything they've got, This is what we play all year for and we'll put it all on the line. This is Game 7. There's only one better Game 7. They are no more what-if scenarios," reliever Jeremy Affeldt said on his team’s confidence ahead of next important game.
Later manager Mike Matheny commented and explained about his team’s preparation ahead of next decisive game against the San Francisco Giants and said, “We've got to make some adjustments, our team's done that all season, One thing I know is these guys take these to heart. Right now his back tightened up, even little bit more as we went through the game, We'll see when we get here tomorrow."
Cardinals’ received a humiliating defeat on Sunday, October 21 at the Giants’ home field. They could have played better but their starter Chris Carpenter did not show any energy in his pitching and lost the game for his team.
He pitched four innings but received five runs in it which proved disastrous for the Cardinals as they suffered a heart breaking 6-1 defeat.
On the other hand, the Giants’ starter Ryan Vogelsong played beautifully for his team and did not let the Cardinals’ entire batting line-up to play him freely.
Now reports are coming that it is expected that St. Louis Cardinals will unleash Kyle Lohse for game-seven of National League Championship Series.
Lohse has already pitched in game three at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri as it will give a positive boost to the Cardinals.
Not only has he performed well in the post-season, but the game he played against the Giants, he won it with style for the Cardinals.
In that particular game, he pitched 5.2 innings and received only one run and seven hits while he struck-out two on his brilliant 1.59 ERA.
