St. Louis Cardinals crush Atlanta Braves 8-2 – MLB Recap
The 2011 World Series Champions St. Louis Cardinals are once again getting in momentum with their recent balanced form. They defeated the Atlanta Braves with a bitter hammering of 8-2 in the first game of their three-match regular series encounter on Monday,
May 28 at Turner Field, Atlanta in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
Starter Lance Lynn held the Braves and never allowed them to take control of the game in his presence on the mound.
He finished giving two runs and two earned runs. He also struck out eight Braves’ batters and eventually led his team a superb victory.
"They played a great game against me that game in St. Louis and there was a little added incentive to be sure," Lynn said on his performance in which he proved certainly a winning factor for his team.
Mike Matheny said for his player who has been quite consistent throughout this season, "He had fire in his eyes today, You figure at this point they've seen quite a bit of him and he's not a secret in the league anymore, For him to go out on this start and
make it his best one says a lot about him, to get a chance against the team that got him before."
The Braves certainly played a disgraceful game as their no player was able to perform.
"We've got to turn this thing around – soon. We've just got to stay afloat. We have to bear down." Braves catcher Brian McCann said in dismay on his team’s performance.
The Braves starter Tommy Hanson was one player who just could not get his fast throws right and hammered with six runs and eight hits.
From start to finish, the Cardinals never gave any chance to the Braves and progressively made things easy for themselves with six runs’ clear lead in the end.
This win now gives the Cardinals a positive boost as they are trying hard to grab the number one spot in the National League Central Division.
Currently the Cincinnati Reds are holding the top spot with 27-21 win loss record along with .563 winning percentage.
