St. Louis Cardinals humiliated by Atlanta Braves 7-10 – MLB Recap
The St. Louis Cardinals humiliated by the Atlanta Braves 7-10 in the third and final game of their three-match regular series encounter on Wednesday, May 30 at Turner Field in 2012 Major League Baseball season.
With this win, the Cardinals lost the series 2-1 and gave the Braves a real chance to come up with more thrust in the upcoming games.
First base Freddie Freeman played well and earned a great win for the Braves. Freeman scored two runs and three RBIs in his five at bats.
"I was surprised about how I hadn't played in a few days and was able to have my swing like that," Freeman said. "I wasn't worried about the glasses. I knew they were good. We went through a stretch, Everybody goes through a stretch in the season. Hopefully that was our longest one. ... It's how you minimize those, and we bounced back like a winning team does."
Cardinals’ manager was not happy on his team’s poor effort.
"The bottom line is seven runs should win a lot of games, We're not doing what we need to do to give us a chance. Some adjustments have to be made.” Cardinals’ manager Mike Matheny said.
From start to finish, the Braves held the Cardinals with great force. They never allowed any big loop holes to the Cardinals batting lineup and eventually took the game away in style.
Braves’ took the early lead in the first inning and steadily paved their way forward and stretched two runs’ lead to five runs in the bottom third.
On the other hand, the Cardinals did try to bounce back in the game as they added two quick runs in the fourth inning and levelled the score.
This was the point where the Braves showed their true class and pushed the Cardinals with great force who eventually lost their composure losing bitterly 10-7 in the end.
Though this defeat does not affect the Cardinals’ overall standing in the National League Central, but on the whole, the Braves certainly got a huge benefit defeating St. Louis as it will help stay longer in the competition.
