St Louis Cardinals’ loyal fans furious over Albert Pujols betrayal – MLB News
The St. Louis Cardinals’ loyal fans are furious over star slugger Albert Pujols deal with the Los Angeles Angels.
The exhilarating $254 million 10 year deal will make sure that Pujols will start a fresh career with the Angels in 2012 and promised to remain intact with the extraordinary performances he used to demonstrate whenever he enters onto a baseball field.
The Dominican Republic native Pujols, who finally took a bold decision to leave the Cardinals after winning the 2011 World Series with them, now is being criticised by the fans over leaving the franchise where he spent his entire career before going into
the Angels. All across America and other countries of the world, people are throwing unwelcome comments and saying awful things about Pujols’ decision to play for the Angels next seasons.
From social media websites to sports forums and every plate form of internet, people are pouring-in their enraged comments regarding Albert Pujols decision to take his talents to Southern California after playing his entire career with the St. Louis Cardinals.
The loyal fans of the Cardinals somewhat showing their frustration and anger over a player whom they adored so much and who is being considered one of the key players from the current Cardinals roster which helped the team to win 2011 World Series against
the Texas Rangers.
The Number five jersey of Pujols is also making some news. His jersey was showed on many websites with dollar $ sign on while many mockingly threatened of burning it in-front of the cameras as a act of shame for Pujols.
Some die hard fans posted different comments on “Twitter” which truly reflects the inner feelings of these infuriated fans. According to a Twitter user cmcaesa, who said, “Pujols. Really? I feel like I've been cheated on.”
Later lucky_cinco shared a comment, “In shock about Pujols. I guess money is everything. #adiospujols”
Even Cardinals’ chairman and CEO Bill DeWitt Jr. was also utterly disappointed when he said in a statement,
“We are disappointed that we were unable to reach an agreement to keep Albert Pujols in St. Louis, Albert is a great champion and we will always be thankful for his many achievements in a Cardinals uniform, as well as his contributions to the St. Louis community.
I would like our fans to know that we tried our best to make Albert a lifetime Cardinal but unfortunately we were unable to make it happen.”
The late reaction of Cardinals’ fans over Pujols decision to join another team in the league is somehow justified in the eyes of various sports experts but this reaction will soon be lessened with the time especially with the start of the 2012 MLB season.
