St. Louis Cardinals’ shortstop Rafael Furcal’s elbow getting better – MLB Update
St. Louis Cardinals' talented shortstop Rafael Furcal’s right elbow is getting better every day. The team doctors confirmed that Furcal’s quick recovery process is giving him required strength as well.
This is encouraging news for the Cardinals’ as they want a good start next year. Furcal’s elbow scan showed an enormous amount of progress with his healing process.
Cardinals’ management was given a detailed briefing about Furcal’s current health status last week. However, the Cardinals’ front office did not confirm his positive development in the media back then.
Furcal has recently returned to his offseason home his native country the Dominican Republic and now meeting with several physicians to ask how much time he still needs to rest before resuming his baseball activities.
“His ligament looked completely healed, Right now there’s no reason to think he won’t be ready to go and expect a full year out of him. It’s a little bit of a relief for us,” St. Louis Cardinals’ general manager John Mozeliak spoke on Sirius XM radio.
He added with more detail, “That’s still something we’re kicking around, I probably blame myself for talking a lot about shortstop. But right now it’s not something we’re chasing given the fact that the news of Furcal is positive. I don’t think we’re going to be pounding that (market) as much as people anticipated.”
Rafael Furcal has been playing in the Major League Baseball for last almost 12 years and not only he is performing with high energy but he has also proved his game on many occasions.
Started his career in 2000 with the Atlanta Braves, he also went onto play for the Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals.
As soon as he started his professional career, he started to show his extraordinary skills which also brought him the National League Rookie of the Year Award in 2000.
In his well established career, he has also been nominated three-times All-Star. Winner of World Series in 2011 with the Cardinals, he has also tied the award for NL lead in triples in 2003 and achieved unassisted triple play in the same year.
