St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jaime Garcia undergoes MRI – MLB Update
St. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jaime Garcia suffered a big blow with aggravating shoulder injury. He has been sent for an MRI examination while doctors believe that this particular injury will keep him out at-least two to three months from the baseball
field.
Garcia felt stiffness in his shoulder during the game against the Washington Nationals in the National League Divisional Series as his team manager Mike Matheny took him out from the field.
"Jaime's arm wasn't feeling right at the time, He's out right now getting an MRI, getting it looked at. Don't have the results, but we'll be able to comment on that, make a statement tomorrow," Matheny said after the game and explained in detail about his
player who potential will receive a MRI examination first.
Garcia has already missed two months in this ongoing Major League Baseball season with the same issues with his strained shoulder while now his team management is taking no further risks and wants a proper medical checkup of Garcia’s shoulder.
"It just wasn't right the whole time. I had to come out of the game, I don't know how it happened, I don't know when it happened. I'm just hoping it's not too bad, but at the same time you've just got to wait and see how it goes," Garcia has said in the
media and told the reporters about his pain in the shoulder.
Regarding his performance, Garcia went 3.92 ERA along with 7-7 win-loss, 98 strikeouts and 1.36 WHIP in this season.
Cardinals’ on the other hand, replaced Garcia with Lance Lynn who is also playing well in this season. “I was ready from the get-go in case anything happened," Lynn said.
Currently Cardinals are busy playing against the Nationals in the NLDS. Though this is big blow for St. Louis side but they certainly do not want any potential horrific situation for Garcia.
Some experts earlier believed that Cardinals will bring Garcia back for good results in the NLDS but now sources are telling in the media that St. Louis will give him rest and make him ready for the next MLB season.
