St. Louis Cardinals unveil new jersey for 2013 – MLB Update
St. Louis Cardinals will wear new uniform in the next Major League Baseball season. Cardinals’ management unveiled their new jersey on Friday during a press conference at Busch Stadium.
“We pulled from all those elements into this jersey," President Bill DeWitt III said.
General Manager John Mozeliak also attended the press conference and expressed his full support for Cardinals new alterative uniform for their Saturday home games next season.
"Take a step back in time and bring it forward," John Mozeliak said.
During the press conference, the Cardinals officials also discussed other concerns. They somewhat notified that the next season will be thrilling for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals have already finalised the 40-man roster for the next big event. However, regarding Minor League pitchers Eric Fornataro and Kevin Siegrist, the Cardinals have yet to decide their addition in the big league’s team.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals' management especially their head Mozeliak, seem busy to tackle all sort of organisation’s matters.
Cardinals’ GM is also looking deep into Rafael Furcal’s case. His right elbow and its torn ligament were recently checked by team doctors and according to their reports, its healed.
“His ligament looked completely healed, Right now there’s now reason to think he won’t be ready to go expect a full year out of him. It’s a little bit of a relief for us,” Mozeliak told on Sirius XM radio and explained in detail about Furcal.
Mozeliak added, “That’s still something we’re kicking around, I probably blame myself for talking lot about shortstop. But right now it’s not something we’re chasing given the fact the news of Furcal is positive. I don’t think we’re going to be pounding that (market) as much as people anticipated.”
Furcal is a good player and playing in the Cardinals for couple of years. He finished this past Major League season after achieving .264 hitting average along with five homers, 49 RBIs and .325 OBP.
Cardinals also understand that Furcal will be a decisive factor next season. Though he is suffering from a bad period, but if healthy, Furcal will be playing his best game.
