St. Louis Rams DE Chris Long: We are playing good football – NFL News
St. Louis Rams have not been able to play good football in regular seasons, let alone qualify for playoffs, since a long time, but their start to this season campaign has made many players optimist about this season’s prospects.
Rams have already defeated their last season’s miserable 2-14 record by winning three of their five games and are now looking forward to further increasing their number of victories.
Their highest number of regular season victories since they last qualified for playoffs in the 2004 season is eight and although it is too early to predict that Rams will beat or at least match that record, there is no denying that the team can achieve this
feat.
The wins this season have lifted morale of the players, who are also fascinated on winning every home game they have played this season so far.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Rams defensive end Chris Long said of the team’s performance in this season:
“Right now we’re playing good football. We’re playing quality football, physical football, grind-it-out type football and I think it’s a lot of fun. We have an identity now, so hopefully the fans will continue to come in and support us.”
Rams are competing with Arizona Cardinals, Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers in National Football Conference (NFC) West and since all these teams are very competent it is not easy to predict the division leader.
Rams have not won the division since a long time, but they want to achieve that feat too this season. Veteran running back Steven Jackson said of winning all home games and the team’s target for the season:
“We’re going to take great pride in that. We one, want to be a very tough home team and two, we want to win our division.”
Rams have lost both their road games this season while their next game is also scheduled on road.
Jackson said of playing on road:
“We have a nice little break coming ahead of us, but we’ve got to face another tough team on the road and we have to learn how to win on the road.”
