St. Louis Rams GM Les Snead thinks QB Sam Bradford will continue to develop – NFL News
St. Louis Rams first-year general manager Les Snead has expressed satisfaction over the progress of quarterback Sam Bradford, expressing his opinion that the quarterback will continue to adjust into the offensive system introduced by former New York Jets
offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
Heading into his third National Football League (NFL) season, Bradford has played under different coaches after being drafted as the first overall pick in the 2010 draft.
Bradford’s rookie season was marvellous, but the next season saw him declining in performance as well as health. He seems to have successfully overcome the road to recovery and now adjusting into the system nicely.
Rams have played preseason games against Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys. They will take on Baltimore Ravens on Thursday and Snead thinks that Bradford will continue to learn the system by getting more playing time.
Snead told Steve Wyche on NFL Network's "NFL AM":
“I think the more times we get on stage, and that'll occur tomorrow night against the Ravens in St. Louis, the more time he gets out there, plays and gets timing down with his receivers, he'll continue to develop in this offence."
Meanwhile, Snead has expressed satisfaction over the weapons present to support Bradford on the Rams offensive line. The general manager thinks that Rams have plenty of good receivers who will provide the due support to Bradford during the season. He said:
"What you do with a receiving corps, I think any offence has to go into the battle for that week against an opponent and give the weapons a role. And I think we have a complement of receivers, I think we have enough receivers that some teams have even called
about a few of them that they think are on the bubble.”
Rams have taken a gamble this offseason as they surrendered their second overall pick in this year’s draft in favour of more picks to increase the number of players on the roster. They could have released Bradford and acquired services of any other quarterback,
but they showed faith in him. Now it is up for Bradford to live up to the expectations and prove that he is worth trusting.
