St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford tired of talking about ankle – NFL News
Despite remaining active during practice and training sessions throughout this offseason, St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford has faced a lot of questions about his injured ankle and the player seems to have got tired of it now.
The injury that he sustained last season did not bother him this year, but the player earlier admitted that the injury was still there. Since then he has been receiving a lot of questions about his ability to perform consistently throughout the 2012 season.
Bradford has maintained that the injury is not bothering him and now it seems that he does not like receiving questions about it as he has to give the same reply to each of them.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Bradford said:
“To be honest, I’m tired of talking about the ankle. Until it causes me to miss reps or miss time, it’s a non-issue.”
Due to the injury, the quarterback missed a few games last season and was limited in others. The season was a mess for the Rams as they finished 2-14, resulting in firing of general manager and head coach.
Rams new head coach Jeff Fisher has also backed Bradford, who instead of going for surgery preferred rehab to treat the ankle injury. Fisher said:
“Well, you have options. You can go in and fix it and you’re talking about four-to-six months, or you can just rehab it, which he did. Sometimes, it takes a little bit longer, but he’s really not having any issues.”
Bradford was also looking good during the Rams’ preseason opener against Indianapolis Colts last Sunday. Although Rams lost the game, Bradford’s ankle issue was not brought up.
The quarterback completed seven of nine attempted passes and gained 57 yards. He seems ready for their second preseason game that will be played on this Saturday against Kansas City Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Fisher also thinks that there is no need of asking questions again and again about Bradford’s ankle. He said of the quarterback:
“He’s doing fine. You can see he’s out there doing fine. I think it won’t go away because everybody keeps asking him. Quit asking him and it’ll heal up.”
