St. Louis Rams cautious of Seattle Seahawks defence – NFL News
Even though Seattle Seahawks were able to defeat Green Bay Packers in a controversial manner to conclude Week 3 of the 2012 season, their overall performance in the game, especially on defence, cannot be ignored.
They were pretty strong in controlling Packers offence, which is evident from the fact that quarterback Aaron Rodgers was sacked eight times in the first half of the game.
The sturdy performance from Seahawks defence is alarming for the St. Louis Rams, who are going to host Seahawks in Week 4 game.
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, who has already been sacked 12 times in his first three games, is facing a daunting task of overcoming Seahawks defence.
According to the details present on the Seahawks’ website, Bradford said of Seahawks overall performance against Packers:
“You look at what they were able to do this Monday night and they look unbeatable almost.”
He further said:
“They can beat you with power. They can beat you with speed. They can beat you around the edge. They’re doing a great job right now up front, and we’re definitely very aware of that and it’s something we’re going to have to be mindful of if we want to perform
well on Sunday.”
Seahawks have got off to a 2-1 start after three games, while Rams have won only one of their three games.
In their first two games, Rams were pretty good on offence, but their Week 3 defeat against Chicago Bears completely exposed their offence as they were able to score only six points.
If Rams are unable to improve their offensive performance they have no chance of winning against Seahawks.
Meanwhile, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll has appreciated his team for performing well against the Packers, who are one of the Super Bowl contenders this season.
Leaving the last controversial play aside, the game was evenly matched with Seahawks having their fair share of domination. Carroll said of his team:
“The production in the first half was as outrageous as I’ve ever seen. The ability to rush such a good quarterback and such a good offense in that manner was extraordinary.”
Rams head coach Jeff Fisher must come up with a tactical approach to counter Seahawks’ strength.
