St. Louis Rams cherish victory over Washington Redskins – NFL News
This Sunday was special for St. Louis Rams. After being defeated in Week 1 game of the season, they had hosted Washington Redskins for Week 2 game. The Redskins had started their season campaign by upsetting New Orleans Saints, so Rams were prepared for
a tough challenge.
The game did not start well for Rams as they struggled for some time to find their rhythm. However, they gradually found their touch and started creating big opportunities on offence while the defence played its role.
After a shaky start and a competitive battle, Rams staged a comeback later in the game to win it. That was their first win of the season and they got something to cheer about owing to the on-field performance after a long time.
Their 2011 season campaign was miserable and the change of personnel did not sound too good either. However, the transition was so smooth that new head coach Jeff Fisher and new general manager Les Snead did not find any difficulty in adjusting into the
system.
As the Rams defeated the Redskins, many are hoping that they would beat their last season’s 2-14 record and in fact show significant improvement this season.
The Rams have enjoyed working under Fisher and they are having a good time after their first win of the season. According to the details present on the team’s website, Fisher has preached them to enjoy their time, but the head coach wants his players to
dedicate their entire focus on the game when required.
Fisher said:
“You should have fun and look forward to coming to work even when you’re in the parking lot and have fun doing it. And when you’re here, you expect to win. That’s kind of the attitude that they have. That goes back to our first little scuffle on the first
play of our OTA. They were ready to move forward and they’ve done so.”
Rams are now going to face Chicago Bears for Week 3 game and all the players are looking forward to delivering their best shot. Running back Steven Jackson said after the victory:
“This team is special and I’m enjoying it. I’m going home with a smile and I’m going to work just as hard to get back for Chicago.”
