St. Louis Rams’ coach Steve Spagnuolo backs his players – NFL News
More than half of the season is over and there are still doubts about which teams are going to make it to the playoffs. However, there is one guaranteed fact as far as St. Louis Rams are concerned; they are not entering the playoffs!
The news might seem disappointing, but Rams’ coach Steve Spagnuolo is not worrying about it.
Right from the start of the season, things did not go well for Rams. They kicked off with six straight defeats. After 11 games, they have a record of 2-9 and are placed at the bottom of the National Football Conference West division.
They are going to face their division in-charge, San Francisco 49ers, that only need one more victory to seal the playoff-spot.
The times are tough, but Steve Spagnuolo thinks that the players have done well and they should be proud of it.
“When you’re in a situation like this you can do one of two things. You can live in victim-hood and say that you’re the victim. It’s woe is us and what not. And all that does is bring you down. Or you can be grateful and thankful
for the things that you do have and focus on that. That gives you the energy, in my opinion, to keep you up through something like this. And then you take action to change it. And that’s what our team tries to do,” he said on Wednesday.
The coach believes that when his team will play against 49ers, the observers will see a competitive team. He said that the players are trying as best as they can to ensure that they give tough time to the opponents on Sunday and
emerge victorious at the end of the game.
Earlier, linebacker James Laurinaitis had also urged players to forget the memories of the failures and focus on the next games. He called for giving tough competition to the opponents and said that the players should keep their
fighting spirits alive during the last five games of the season.
Meanwhile, receiver Danario Alexander is recovering from hamstring injury and is expected to play against 49ers. Quarterback Sam Bradford was happy to have him back and said that Alexander is an important weapon for Rams.
