St. Louis Rams deflated by loss, hopes to finish season strongly – NFL News
St. Louis Rams’ playoff hopes were virtually crushed when they were defeated in Week 15 game by Minnesota Vikings.
The defeat ended the Rams’ three-game winning streak, killing the sudden surge the Rams unexpectedly displayed the last month.
Rams are 6-7-1, and placed at third position in National Football Conference (NFC) West. They have already performed much better than last season, and still can achieve another milestone.
By winning their last two games of the season, the Rams can finish at third spot in the division, leaving the Arizona Cardinals at the bottom. Rams could only win two games last season, and winning six games and levelling one (that too against San Francisco
49ers) is a commendable achievement.
The Rams have also got another achievement to their name. They are so far undefeated in the division. They have played five divisional games this season so far and have won four of them while levelling one.
They will play their sixth divisional game in Week 17 when they take on the Seattle Seahawks.
Nevertheless, the Rams have made their point and they can certainly build on this season’s performance to improve during the next few years.
Their recent loss against Vikings, however, has presented a lot of questions. The Rams defence was completely below expectations during the first three quarters in which the Vikings scored a total of 33 points. However, the defence played well in the final
quarter in which the Vikings only got a field goal.
Rams head coach Jeff Fisher, who is in his first year with the team, is a bit disappointed with the loss, but he is not giving up and wants the team to finish strong. According to the details present on the team’s website, he said:
“It is deflating but you deal with it and you move on. That’s the approach we took this morning. You mull it all over, you get it corrected and you move on. Our challenge is do you want to mope around as a result of a loss to the Vikings and be that team
or do you want to be the team that’s won three of the last four games and go out and try to win another one?”
Rams are going to face Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 16 and Seahawks in Week 17.
