St. Louis Rams prepare for three tough challenges – NFL News
St. Louis Rams have clearly transformed into a better unit this season. After a dismal 2-14 last season, they are already 3-3 this season.
The credit could go to the front office and coaching staff, and the players who have exhibited high spirits to attain success this year.
As compared to the last season, Rams have performed reasonably well this season and their defence has provided a number of game-winning opportunities to the team.
Right from Week 1 loss against Detroit Lions, Rams defence has shown a commendable class and even in the games that Rams have lost, the defence did not totally surrender.
However, the real test for the defence’s abilities will be taken during the next few weeks when the Rams face three tough teams.
In Week 7, Rams will take on Green Bay Packers, while they will face New England Patriots in Week 8. After their bye in Week 9, Rams will play against San Francisco 49ers in Week 10. All these teams are Super Bowl contenders this season and there is no denying
that their respective offences can beat even the toughest defensive lines.
That is why Rams are still not rejoicing their performance of the season. They know that they have still a lot of ground to cover before they can actually celebrate.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher, who has joined the team this year, has appreciated the team for performing so well till now, but he has also urged the players to keep their focus on the next three big
challenges. Fisher said:
“I’m pleased with where we are, but we have a lot of work to do and we have, clearly over the next two weekends, we have significant challenges.”
Meanwhile, cornerback Cortland Finnegan has also expressed the same sentiments. He said of the season:
“It’s a good start but it’s definitely not where we want to finish. I guess you can tip your hat, but there are a lot of things we need to improve on. These next three weeks and even this test right here is the most important one at hand.”
