St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford ‘feeling good’ – NFL News
After a relatively well rookie season in 2010 and a very substandard season, by all means, in 2011, St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford, the first overall pick of the 2010 draft, is adjusting into the system well and ‘feeling good’ as he prepares for
his third season.
In his rookie season, Bradford gained more than 3,500 yards, but slumped badly during the last season. He was unable to play some games due to injuries and did not perform well whenever he got a chance to play.
Bradford is still a youngster and needs to learn a lot about the game. He has to know how to keep his body fit throughout the season while delivering up to his potential. So far, his performance in training camp is reportedly good and the quarterback is
looking forward to overcoming his mistakes.
According to the details present on the team’s website, Bradford said:
“I feel really good right now. My arm feels probably as strong as it’s ever felt. I think a big thing for me is maintaining that. Obviously during camp you take a lot of reps, you make a lot of throws, so staying on top of my shoulder and my body, making
sure that it stays in shape is something that I am going to be really aware of this year.”
Rams are entering the 2012 season as an entirely different unit after a miserable 2011 campaign. Last season they won only two games and 14 losses sent them at the bottom of the National Football Conference (NFC) West.
The general manager and coach were fired and new officials took charge of the franchise. It was also speculated that the Rams might release Bradford as well, but the new coach Jeff Fisher showed faith in him and decided to retain the quarterback.
At present Fisher seems satisfied with Bradford’s performance as well. The head coach said of the quarterback:
“He’s doing a great job. He’s made some great throws. You see him developing relationships with even the younger receivers already. He’s right on track. His potential is extremely, extremely good.”
Rams were pretty active during this year’s draft and free agency as they added a number of players to increase their roster depth.
