St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford optimistic about 2012 season under Jeff Fisher – NFL News
St. Louis Rams’ first overall pick of the 2010 draft quarterback Sam Bradford has not yet been able to prove his worth and entering his third National Football League (NFL) season now, the quarterback wants to silence his critics.
In order to be successful on the field, Bradford needs assistance from his teammates and given that the Rams were pathetic throughout the 2011 season, it is hard to believe that Bradford will perform well in the upcoming season.
However, Bradford’s hopes are high because of presence of head coach Jeff Fisher, who has joined the team this year.
Following their dismal 2-14 2011 season, the Rams fired their then general manager and head coach and brought in new personnel. Fisher is an experienced coach and many observers believe that he will play a crucial role in rebuilding the Rams’ tarnished image.
Bradford is also among those who have high expectations of Fisher. Although it is a long shot to say that Fisher will lead them to the playoffs in his first season, there is no denying that Fisher’s experience will be vital for Rams.
According to the Associated Press, Bradford is of the view that Fisher’s presence is going to help the entire Rams organisation. The quarterback said:
"Having Coach Fisher there is something that is really going to help our organization. He's a guy who's been in the league and winning games for a long time now. He's knows what he's doing. From Day 1, he's had the respect of everyone in our locker room,
which I think is extremely important.”
He expressed positive hopes about the 2012 season and added:
"The changes that have been made this year and in the offseason are definitely going to help us win games."
Last year, Bradford was able to play only 10 games. He could only manage 2,164 yards while scoring six touchdowns and throwing six interceptions.
His rookie season was better than his second as he gained 3,512 yards in the 2010 season while scoring 18 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.
Bradford is hopeful of staging his career-best performance in the 2012 season and only time will tell if he gets the required help from his teammates.
