St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford still has ankle injury – NFL News
An ankle injury, which affected St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford’s performance badly last season after the player had performed brilliantly a year ago in his rookie season, has still not vanished, the quarterback has admitted.
Although the injury is not bothering Bradford as he has been able to train without any problem so far, the player has said that his ankle is still not hundred percent healthy.
According to St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Bradford told reporters that he has not yet faced any setback because of the injury, but he maintained that the injury was there. He said:
“It's close. I think it's as good as it's going to feel. It's something that we're managing right now. I've been able to take every snap so far without any setbacks and I think that's a positive sign."
In the 2010 season when Bradford was playing as the number one overall pick of the year, the rookie did not disappoint the team and managed over 3,000 passing yards. However, he dropped to just a little over 2,000 yards in the last season as he was not able
to play more games because of the injury.
The Rams had a pretty humiliating season as they were able to win only two out of their 16 games.
Rams have made many changes to their team. From the management to the players, many new faces have been introduced. Bradford is lucky to be still there as it was speculated that he might also get fired.
The apparent reason for Bradford’s failure last year was his injury and he was hoping to silence his critics in the upcoming season, but with the injury problem still present he might not be able to achieve his target.
He is certainly not happy with the injury and is trying his best to deal with it. Bradford said of the injury:
“Yeah, it is a little bit frustrating that it's somewhat there still. I thought that with rest in the offseason, it would've been gone by now. But it's not. I've talked about it with Reg (trainer Reggie Scott). I understand what his plan is, and I think
we're doing as good as we can right now in managing it."
