St. Louis Rams ready to host woeful New York Jets in Week 11 – NFL Preview
In a contest between two mediocre teams, St. Louis Rams host New York Jets in Week 11 game on Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis, MO.
It looks as if the normal service has been restored for Rams (3-5-1) as they gave an extraordinary performance in 24-24 tie against mighty San Francisco 49ers last week.
Jets (3-6), are confronting a problem in which the organisation seems to be divided over the issue regarding starting quarterback.
If the on-field problems were not enough, Jets’ discipline is ripped apart this week after many of the players anonymously expressed their views in the media about whether backup quarterback Tim Tebow should become the starter.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez still has the backing of Jets head coach Rex Ryan, but is continuing his miserable run of form.
In the Jets’ last game, Sanchez completed just nine out of 22 passes for a meagre 124 yards and threw an interception. It was his ninth interception this season.
If Jets get a defeat, it will be their fourth in a row, the first time since the 2007 season.
However, Ryan still insists that he is not thinking about his job security right now. According to the Associated Press, Ryan said:
"With me, I will never waver. I am not going to make a decision to save my job. I am in it to win games. I'm not sitting back concentrating on how do I save my job. I am concentrating on how do we win."
This game will mark the start of Rams’ schedule in which they will face relatively easy opponents as compared to their previous three games in which they played against 49ers, New England Patriots and Green Bay Packers.
The momentum will be in the favour of Rams offence. It played a major role in ending the team’s three-game losing streak last week.
Rams quarterback Sam Bradford showed signs of massive improvement against 49ers as he led the team nearly to a victory.
Bradford finished that game with 26 of 39 for 275 yards and scored two touchdowns. The rejuvenated quarterback is hopeful that offence will continue to give better performance. Bradford said:
"I think our offense as a whole has really made a lot of strides in the past couple weeks. I think last week was evidence of what we're capable of when we don't shoot ourselves in the foot. We put up a lot of yards and a fair amount of points against a really
good defense."
Wide receiver Danny Amendola returned to field last week in superb way as he caught 11 passes for a massive 102 yards.
The running game also looks to excel for Rams as they face Jets defence that is ranked 30th in the league after allowing an average of 145 yards per game.
