St. patrick's day? why you guys pinch?

this is not a question about travel. but i couldnt get any ans at st. patrick's section.

so please kindly answer this question :)

why you guys pinch someone who doesnt wear green that day?

any tradition?

  1. It's an American tradition not an Irish one, I'm not sure how it started but it has been going on for years in the states.

  7. I think kids wanted to touch each other when they were little -- so the pinch was born.  No green -- ah ha, fresh target.

    It is an American holiday, brought with the Irish immigrants as a memorial to home.

    Its really no big deal. Hey, i live in the CNMI (look it up), we pinch here. And i am Irish. Its just some old tradition. Its just like shaking hands with someone. You just do it naturally. Dont have a cow.

  9. i live in the U.S. and i really cant tell you why we pinch people that dont wear green on st. patricks day....but every year if you dont wear green you get pinched by everyone....so i make sure i wear green
