Hi

I'm seriously considering moving out of london with my two kids (don't particularly want them growing up here, and dh and i are sick of it). we have chosen bristol, and have just been to check out st werburghs, bristol. it seems to be perfect. can anyone tell me about the place? good for kids? any kiddy/toddler groups there?

any info, pref from a resident would be greatly appreciated.

many thanks

  1. I have lived in rented accommodation St Werburgh's and it's not a bad little place. It has a bit of a feeling of been cut off from the rest of Bristol even though it's close to the centre. (It is  cut off form neighbouring Easton  by the motorway.) It has a park, which can look grotty sometimes, but what is great is the City Farm, with animals, allotments and so on, and also St Werburgh's Hill complete with disused railway cuttings.  The M32 stops there, and it borders on St Paul's and Montpelier. It's fairly limited for shops.  it feels like a kind of left wing enclave in Bristol  Other areas are probably more vibrant such as St Andrew's and Bishposton with Gloucester Road, but SW will be cheaper.  (Clifton and Redland are the nicest. Cotham is good.) I don't know about the kids' side.

Hopefully you'll get more answers from people who know the place better than me.

    It is a nice place.

  2. too near st. pauls and easton. if you thought parts of london was bad, just hold on to your hat! redland and clifton are nice, so are cotham and westbury

  3. deffinitly not i lived in easton not far . you get lots trouble and drugs. but up to you.

  4. Depends how much you have to spend. If you have the money, I would recommend clifton area, very nice and more upmarket. Lots happening for all ages.
