my tape using a regular camcorder is really shaky and i want to stabilize it. is there any way for PREMIERE PRO CS3 to do this? i also have After Effects, but i want to use premiere pro to do it if possible. if not, do i finish editing the video using premiere pro, and then somehow put it into after effects to do the finishing touches? thanks

  1. I don't use After Effects, but other stabilising apps can crop the images slightly.  Assuming AE's no different, I'd stabilise the footage first and then edit it.  I'd also be selective about what needs stabilising - it takes a long time!

  2. no

  3. There is a plugin called Steadymove which used to come free with Premiere 1.5 and will work in CS3. It's pretty good too. Failing that you can try the screwdriver job of keying the frame manually in the clip effect controls under motion, and if you have the patience it will do the job. If you used After Effects you would be doing exactly the same anyway...it's basic key work. You can import a complete Premiere project into After Effects if you need to.

If you can find anyone who has Premiere 1.5 on the retail disc you can get the plugin from there.

    I hope this helps

    Best of luck.
