Stacelita among many to turn in workouts ahead of her Breeders’ Cup date
The 5-year-old Chad Brown trained mare, Stacelita tuned up for her future engagements which happens to be either the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf on 4 November, or the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf on 5 November on 16 October, 2011, at Belmont
Park in New York.
Martin Schwartz owned Stacelita, would be leaned towards the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, which is run over a distance of 1 3/8 miles.
Stacelita worked in company with Desert Stage, and she breezed four furlongs in 48.55 seconds, as she went on to breeze half a mile on the turf course, and completed the distance in pretty good time.
Over the distance of 1 3/8 miles, Stacelita ran a single race over that distance in the Grade 1 United Nations, where she finished third behind Teaks North and Chinchon at Monmouth Park on 2 July, 2011.
That was her first start on the American soil, but she improved dramatically after wards as she instantaneously won the Grade 1 title when she landed the Grade 1 Beverly D. Stakes at Arlington Park on 13 August, 2011, over at 1 3/16 miles.
Stacelita defeated a start studded cast, as she went on to held off the first approaching Dubawi Heights in the final furlong with the winning time of 1 minute and 57.57 seconds, as River Jetez rolled in third.
Next up the Monsun filly captured another grade 1 level race, when she represented her connections in the Grade 1 Flower Bowl at 1 October, 2011, over at 1 ¼ miles on turf, and in the process defeating Distorted Legacy and Dynaslew, with the winning time
of 2 minutes and 10.39 seconds.
In the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf, Stacelita will face a number of high quality runners with the likes of Aruna, Cozi Rosie, Shared Account and Dubawi Heights.
The total number of fillies and mares participating for the heavily pursed race is 11 so far, and it might swell up or deplete as we approach the starting gate of the race.
