Australian golf star Stacey Keating secured her player’s card for Ladies European Tour for next year. This amazing player came in fourth place at the LET Qualifying school in Marcia. She was amongst three other Australians to earn playing rights for 2011.
Kate Combes, who’s also from Victoria tied for eighteenth place with Rachel Bailey from New South Wales. Combes and Bailey both have their playing rights for next year.
Stacey posted rounds of 72-71-75-71-69. She was fourteen shots off the pace. Stacey is an amazing amateur player since the past three years. She wan Australian and Canadian titles in her spectacular amateur career. In 2009, Keating almost attained her playing card for the Ladies European Tour. Since she didn’t make it, she continued playing as an amateur.
Stacy also represented Australia at the recent World Amateur Teams Championship in Buenos Aires. The player  struggled in the United States for seven years. With all her effort, Stacey managed seen top ten finishes and decent earnings. The tournament held this weekend hence gave an opportunity to Keating and all the talented ladies to become professional golfers.
Stacy’s compatriot Combes played on the European Tour for two years before she lost her card and had to come back to Q school. As for Bailey who is thirty tight now, she used to play college golf in US as she attempted to make it on US professional tours. Since things didn’t really turn out how she wanted, Rachel is now competing in Europe.
As for the other players in the Qualifying tournament, the Queenslander Bee Arthur will only play in a selected few tournaments since she finished outside the top 30 list. Caroline Hedwell, from Sweden, posted an amazing eight under par 65 in the final round and defeated the American Jaclyn Sweeney by nine shots. Since Caroline gave a great performance in the qualifying tournament, she will now play a full schedule next year. The 21-year-old will participate in the Tour’s Opening events.
The first event on the Tour next year would be the HANDA Women’s Australian Open which will take place at the Commonwealth Golf Club in Melbourne, Australia. Following the Open is the ANZ Ladies Masters and the Pegasus New Zealand’s Women Open.
With their places confirmed, the ladies will kick of their 2011 season on 3 February 2011.
