Stacy Lewis back on course after off week
Having struggled to reach the second spot in the Women’s World Golf Rankings in the recent past, American Stacy Lewis is now edging closer to the stage where her fans want her to stop losing
and keep winning all the time.
No matter how demanding her fans have become lately, the upcoming battle at Mizuno Classic 2012 is going to reflect what the golfing sensation has learned in her stunning career that boasts
plenty of accolades and victories.
Lewis gave a miss to the last LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament—Sunrise LPGA Taiwan Championship, held in Taiwan, which makes it more crucial for the American star to
do her best at Mizuno Classic, set to be staged from November 2-4, Kintetsu Kashikojima Country Club, Shima-s**+, Mie, Japan.
Observers said that American fans may be rooting for the LPGA titan, but most of the Japanese are going to get behind local contenders, especially Momoko Ueda who won the last edition of the
three-round tournament.
Still, Lewis keeps a very good media profile in Asia and the spectators will definitely expect her to put up a tough fight. Given her latest performances, the battle-hardened golfer looks
as relentless as ever.
South Korean Inbee Park, who is chasing her on the Rolex Player of the Year list, has spoken of how much she wants to snatch the top position from Lewis.
Park’s statement has certainly triggered Lewis’s concern, as she knows that the Mizuno Classic victory by her archrival will knock her off the top of Rolex Player of the Year list.
Sharing her thoughts about what will be her strategy for the impending battle, Park said that she will try to focus on short game because this is what will help her score low.
“Short game and your putter. The fairways are really wide so I think everybody is going to hit the fairways. Hit it really close. The greens don’t have many breaks on this course. Just hit
it where you aim and it will go there,” the South Korean star said.
Observers said that things may look intense, but Lewis appears to be in her best form these days and is good enough to take on any LPGA contender.
