Stacy Lewis grabs second spot in world rankings after a good finish in France
American Stacy Lewis, who is happy after performing well at the Evian Masters 2012, has knocked South Korean Na Yeon Choi off her second position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
Lewis, who has seen her world ranking fluctuate frequently in the recent past, is back to her previous position once again. The American star has repeatedly vowed to become world number one LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) star, and appears to
be going in the right direction now.
The increase in Lewis’s world ranking came after she finished tied for the second position in the Evian Masters 2012. She displayed a better-than-expected performance at Evian-les-Bains, beating most of her nearest rivals in grand style.
Now that the LPGA titan has once grabbed the second spot, she will have to pay more attention to her game. Lewis has gradually improved her game, but there is still much to be done. So far, she has done well, and this is what is keeping her motivated.
Analysts said that the star golfer appears to be in her best form these days, and she has what it takes to beat current world number one Yani Tseng in the Women’s World Golf Rankings. No matter how well Lewis is playing in the current season, it remains
to be seen how she will play in the coming events.
Analysts pointed out that Tseng, who has not been able to record a good finish in recent tournaments, is still hard to dominate, as she has piled up huge points.
Lewis’s performance in the Evian Masters was nothing short of amazing. She played solid strokes on almost all the holes. Although she got off to a good start and grabbed an early lead, she could not hold her ground when she came face-to-face against South
Korean Inbee Park.
“It's huge for me, because I didn't play well yesterday, didn't play my best today, and still I was right there.  I was within a couple shots coming down at the end,” she said of some the mistakes she made during the tournament.

“It's nice to be comfortable enough to make eagle on the last hole and comfortable with that pressure.  You know, just keep working hard, and hopefully one week it all comes together again”.
