Stacy Lewis hopes to keep the momentum going at New York this week

American Stacy Lewis looks fired up after hoisting the trophy at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, as she has vowed to keep the momentum going in this week’s Wegmans LPGA Championship.
The tournament is going to be played from June 7-10, at Pittsford, New York, featuring plenty of competent players.
Lewis, who kicked off the current season in an impressive style, is being considered hot favourite for the Wegmans Championship too.
The American star displayed a stunning performance last week and beat big names like the current world number one Yani Tseng, world number five Suzann Pettersen and the American Paula Creamer.
Analysts said that she may find it hard to keep the pressure intact on her rivals, as she herself will be expected not to make careless strokes — something likely to increase psychological pressure.
The field at the Wegmans LPGA Championship is quite strong, as it is featuring most of the top-ranked players and other LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) giants.
Prominent contenders include Yani Tseng, Paula Creamer, Lexi Thompson, Suzann Pettersen, Karrie Webb, Japanese Ai Miyazato and Mika Miyazato, Mindy Kim, Meena Lee and Lorie Kane.
Lewis said in her last interview that tough times are coming up, which means that she has put in maximum efforts to reach her goals. She said that the major championship is fast approaching, and she is preparing for the big title.
Appreciating the fans’ support that she received at the ShopRite LPGA Classic, the American star said that she feels lucky to be surrounded by loyal spectators, as this is what gives her a mental boost when she is playing against big names.
Lewis went on to say that she has been a little troubled about other things in life, as she has now become a full-time player.
She pointed out that sometimes she finds it hard to focus on golf and private life simultaneously, as things clash when she is on a tour.
“It's definitely a challenge.  The hardest part is saying no to people because I definitely have to say no to certain things just so I can prepare the way I need to,” she said.
“But I mean in general -- it almost helps you once you get on the golf course because you kind of focus on the golf and what's at hand and then once you get done, take care of everything else”.
