Stacy Lewis looks forward to battle at Meadows
American Stacy Lewis has said that she is looking forward to the upcoming Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012, scheduled to start from August 9-12, at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Ohio.
Lewis is among the hot favourite contenders in the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament’s roster, and is eager to prove her mettle once again.
On the other hand, defending champion Na Yeon Choi of South Korea appears to be pretty confident heading into her title defence this Thursday. However, it remains to be seen how Choi is going to cement her
dominance at Ohio, as the field is featuring a number of competent players and past winners.
Despite the hype and a strong roster, Lewis appears to calm and composed, as she said while speaking to the media that she knows the course well and will try to stick to her work ethic.
The American star said that the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic is very important for her, as this is her first LPGA event.
“I really look forward to this event. It’s a special place for me, it’s the first LPGA tournament I ever played in. My family is here, I was born here so it just has a lot of special meaning for me,” Lewis
said.
“My family is so excited to come out they have been working on their shirts for two years so they’re getting ready to go. I’m looking forward to the event”.
The LPGA titan said that she is confident that she can make a major breakthrough this season, as her performance has been quite sensational. She pointed out that despite making a solid start in the current
season, which has seen her win two professional titles, she has made several mistakes and is trying to fix them.
Lewis shared that her fans are satisfied with her performance and have been with her every step of the way, but she thinks that there is no room for complacency. However, she was keen to point out that it has
been a great experience, and this is what has kept her motivated.
“This year has been awesome. I expected to play well but not as well as it has gone,” she said.
