Stade Rennais enter the race for the signature of Mevlut Erdinç – Ligue 1 news
Reports in French media suggest that Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais are looking to enter the race for the signature of highly-sought-after Turkish striker Mevlut Erdinç who is currently on the books of Paris Saint-Germain.
The 24-year-old striker has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes since the start of this summer’s transfer window following the arrival of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721. The former Sochaux man signed for PSG in the summer
of 2009 but after a great start to life at the Parisian club, the youngster was not at his prolific best in the 2010/2011 Ligue 1 campaign.
Reports now suggest that PSG are ready to let go of the player as Erdinç might not be guaranteed of regular playing time this season at the cash-laden club.
FC Girondins de Bordeaux and AS Saint-Etienne are already chasing the striker and it now appears that Stade Rennais are also entering the race for Erdinç’s signature which means that the Turk’s future might be settled in the coming weeks.
According to L’Equipe, a fee in the region of eight million Euros would be enough to sign the striker. Stade Rennais initially made an attempt to sign Erdinç in the January transfer window for 15 million Euros but Antoine Kombouare chose to keep hold of
the striker.
However, with a lot of attacking options at his disposal, Kombouare would be happy to let go of Erdinç and but it is still not clear which club would eventually land the striker.
Though Saint-Etienne and Bordeaux have been keeping tabs on the Turkish international for a long time, the Breton club might win the race as Rennais are playing in the Europa League. Furthermore, Erdinç did not play in PSG’s 4-0 win over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luxembourg-c2945 side
Differdange last night which further increases his chance of joining Frederic Antonetti’s side.
A move away from PSG is on the cards and even though Erdinç does not want to leave, staying at the Parisian club would not be a good decision as the striker will never be able to cement a regular place in the side this season.
