Frederic Antonetti’s side are looking to steal the French midfielder away from their Breton neighbours who might be left fuming
Courted by Newcastle United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127, thanks to his stellar performances for Dijon in the 2011/2012 campaign, French midfielder, Benjamin Corgnet had been heavily linked with a return to Ligue 1 football following Dijon’s
relegation to Ligue 2.
Although Dijon don’t want to part ways with the talented midfielder, a departure seems inevitable. However, the problem is that no big club in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 has the finances to secure a deal for the player. This morning however, Lorient were reportedly willing
to give the Bourguignon native a chance to once again grace Ligue 1 with his presence.
Last night, reports claimed that the Hake residents were indeed favourites to land Corgnet’s signature.
However, the transfer window is famous for its manifold twists and turns. And, Corgnet’s case also does not escape the rule. According to Le 10 sport, Stade Rennais might be on the verge of derailing the player’s move to Stade http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Du-c11689 Moustoir.
Reports claim that Les Rouges et Noir might already have made Dijon an offer. Dijon want 5 million euros for the player and Rennais feel that the asking price is not an insurmountable barrier.
The Breton club’s coach, Frederic Antonetti is very keen to sign the player and will have to wait and see if the club’s major shareholder, Pinault will be willing to free up some cash for this particular operation.
So far, the club has signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jean-II-Makoun-c18139 and Romain Alessandrini and it appears that the club could be set to host its third new player.
Indeed, Rennais are set to play another dirty trick with another fellow Ligue 1 club. Last time, it was FC Sochaux Montbéliard who thought they had attained the services of Alessandrini only to find out that the youngster was lured away by Rennais.
This time, it is Lorient who might become a victim of Rennais’ dirty manoeuvres which could start a rivalry between the two clubs.
Benjamin Corgnet on the other hand, is keen on staying in Ligue 1 and would not really bother much about which club he goes to as he only aspires to play in the top division for now.
