I am so shy infront anyone, but when it comes to family and my bestest friends im like a total drama queen and im not shy to do anything ! Once, i actually feared to cross the road (OMG) but now i got over dat since i have to do it everyday (duhh..).

I really need help so if anyone knows a way of how overcoming stage fright , then please let me know !!

  1. I know exactly how you feel! I still get nervous, but not as much now. Just like what you did with crossing the road, you need to do with performing...perform all the time, so it just feels natural. At the beginning it'll be scary but then you won't be bothered to be so nervous anymore. Even if its doing presentations at school that's still good practise. Act like you're a confident person when you perform and you'll start to feel like one. Focus on what your doing and not your nerves. Overcoming stagefright is just training yourself to channel your nerves, so that they improve your performance. I hope this helps...gd luck!!

  2. i don't know

  3. i have the same problem, just try starting with little things, like goin up to the shopkeeper, build your confidence, ull b fine

  4. Acting classes with on-camera work is one of the best ways to overcome stage fright. You practice and practice, and it becomes old-hat almost. As well, get into the role! Put yourself into the role ... use yourself and experiences in the role, but become the role ... then you forget about the camera and who is watching on stage. Stop thinking about yourself and what other's think of you ... it's pretty selfish actually (remember this is something I struggle with, also, so I'm not judging). But, if you are immersed in the role, you're not going to think about that anyway.

  5. This is what i do.  Think of when you watch other people present projects to the class. Are you really interested in what theyre saying, or do you stare into space or stare at the lights or something.  Just remember that when you are presenting, the only people actually paying attention are your teacher and MAYBE your really close friends.  For a performance, just be confident.  Remember: you're cooler, more talented, and better looking that any of the losers in the audience, so why should you ne nervous.  (lol).

  6. This is real simple to solve! Thanks god huh? I used to have this problem too but now I simply think to myself some powerful things before I walk up to the person or go on stage. Whether they are true or not. I think about how great I am, or how tuff I am or how good looking I am, strange stuff like that to pump me up. I hope this helped.

  7. I was always the same way when i was younger. i was scared of checking out groceries until i was 13! lol. I actually just found out that it's because i have a mild anxiety disorder. I would turn bright red and my voice would get shaky if i had to do a speech in front of my classes or even ask the teacher a question! To help get over it, I just made it a point to talk to someone new every single day. I tried to get out of my comfort zone so I even did a local beauty pageant and ended up winning and going to state. You really just have to discover who you are and let it show. There is no reason for you to be afraid of what anybody thinks about you.

But also, if that doesn't help you might want to look into seeing a doctor because you could possibly have General Anxiety Disorder and you could get a prescription for a mild medication to help you relax some. Lexapro is pretty mild and are generally used for depression but help anxiety too. I hope you get all of this figured out. Good luck to you!

  8. i know this might sound rlly weird but what i do is i imagine that everyone in the room speaks a different language when i have to speak, and i imagine everyone blind (that explains the staring they always do when you're up there! :) when i have to do a dance routine in font of everyone @ my dance class. it actually rlly helps u should try it!

    good luck!

  9. ok you're not stupid. it's totaly ok to be afraid of the stage. i've been dancing since i was 2 but i was always rlly shy. i was a bookworm who didnt lyk to talk 2 ppl & wasnt outgoing especialy in front of strangers, but i was all right with ppl i knew. now i try everything & i'm not afraid anymore. i still get a bit nervous before auditions, but once i really get into it it goes away.

whenever you have 2 do something that makes u nervous/uncomfortable, imagine the person/people that you are talking to is a close relative or friend. it will make it less frightening.

as for the stage, don't try to find faces of people you know in the audience. it always makes me nervous and distracts me. if you are speaking, don't look directly at the audience even if you're supposed 2. look rite above their heads, towards the back wall. you can also imagine that the room is empty & you're practicing. the most important thing is to relax. i'm sure ur a realy talented person, adn once u get over ur stage fright other people will notice it too. best of wishes & good luck!
