Stagecoach Jasper expected to be competitive in Richmondshire Conditional Jockeys´ Handicap Hurdle
Stagecoach Jasper is likely to be strong in the Richmondshire Conditional Jockeys´ Handicap Hurdle at Catterick in England on Wednesday, December 5, 2012. He will have to overcome a few other decent challengers, who will be eying to steal the show in the
class-4 competition.
A total of 17 entrants have been attracted towards the 2 mile, 3 furlong race, which is scheduled to kick off at 12:20 GMT. All of them will be eagerly awaiting the start of action, as there is a chance for them to claim a cash prize of £2,599 at the end
of the day.
There has been a lot of rain at Catterick, which has left the track as soft. This will definitely cause a few problems for some of the participants, as they do not like running under such circumstances. As a result, they might opt to withdraw from the race
rather than risking an injury.
According to the bookies, there is going to be an interesting battle today, as some of the stallions will enjoy running on a rain affected ground. One of them is Rear Admiral, who has been given pretty decent odds for a victory.
He does not have a lot of experience, but likes running in races over hurdles. He might not be much comfortable in such conditions, which will discourage the punters to gamble money on him.
Overall, the Michael Easterby’s trained gelding has represented his team in a couple of hurdles, but failed to succeed in any of them. He did not disappoint his fans though, securing the third spot on both occasions.
However, he was strong on a normal ground and that will put him under immense pressure today.
Compared to him, Stagecoach Jasper will be looking forward to a stronger run, as he has done well on a soft ground in the past.
The Sue Smith’s trainee debuted at Catterick under similar circumstances and finished third back then. This will really boost his confidence and the bettors will be looking forward to risk some money on him.
He has been partnered by jockey, Shane Byrne, from the start of his career and will enjoy his company once again.
