Question:

Stagnation of human diversity?

4000 years ago, human diversity was at its peak (= most languages, most cultures, largest dna diiference between humans at 0,002) since that, mankind is growing more and more towards each other. Devolpments like the worldsystem, airplanes, globalism and mondialism etc. etc. all have contributed largely to the decline of diversity amongst humankind in the last centuries.

If one graphicly visualizes this decline of diversity in languages, DNA and cultures the line will drop faster as time proceeds. Will it reach the point where we are all speak the same language, look the same (since there is no more DNA difference) and share the same global melting pot culture?

  1. That is certainly possible, though there really isn't a good way to predict exactly how probable that possibility is. Additionally, I'd stay away from loaded terms like stagnation. But then I'm usually one for qualification after quantification.

  2. It will be hard for us to ever all look the same, which would require no bias in breeding populations meaning one population would have breed with a population across the world at the same rate it does with its own population forevor in order to sustain all of us having the exact same DNA, and even then, environment plays a huge role in what genes are expressed, and taking into account random mutation... I would say all of us having the same DNA... Is impossible.

  3. Yes, if society survives the way it does now.

After a couple thousand years there will be no more pure white people and the naturally blond hair color will be gone in just a few hundred.

Different languages will probably still exist for a while until English finally takes over.

    culture best case scenario:

religion will no longer have a position in society, all human beings will improve science together and teach the truth.

with strict birth control laws we will stop the explosive population growth in second world countries and after still many thousand years we can eradicate human diversity and live in a fair one world government.

we will no longer kill animals for meat, rather a variety of different meat will be laboratory grown for full quality and low pollution\waste.

    culture worst case scenario:

all world governments will go on a slippery slope towards theocracy, the world will be dominated by terrorists and fear.

nobody will be able to stop the explosive population growth and the worlds ecosystem will be ruined.

most species will die, the western world will lose its privileges (clean water, technology etc) and animal's will be factory farmed in even more horrible conditions to produce the worlds meat demand.
