Stain/dye removal question

I have a white purse (synthetic leather) and some black dye from somewhere has left a large mark on it. How do I get it out?

in certain cases toothpaste will work depending on how big the stain is ,i know this because i used it to remove permanent ink from a white board that's used for messages when they should have used a water based in .
