Question:

Stainless Steel Engagement Ring?

Does anyone know of any good sites to view stainless steel engagement rings? I LOVE stainless but am unsure about having a diamond set in stainless...is stainless strong enough to hold a diamond? Why don't more people opt for stainless? Down sides (other than scratching a bit)? Our theory is that if we save some cash on the band, we can go for a "blood free" diamond and won't have to support the "blood diamond" industry. I have a stainless steel ring with a CZ in it (like a tension ring) and I love it...your thoughts?? And any sites would be helpful if you have ever run across any.

  1. Why not find an old steel beer can and use the pull tab.

  2. They are fairly cheap and will last forever.  They also look great and shine like silver.  Ebay and Walmart have them.

  3. Rather than steel, look at tungsten.  It is indestructible.  I have one, so does my husband and a coworker.  They never scratch, never fade, and never lose shine.

Ebay has them for fairly inexpensive.  The stores will rip you off.  Here is a link to read about this type of ring.

  4. We looked at it as well.

The biggest drawback of stainless steel is its inability to be resized and the difficulty of working the material.

We ended up going for white matted gold worked with red matted gold

  5. Why don't you just wrap a pipe cleaner around your finger?

    Geez.....

ADD ON- I think if you are going to send me NASTY emails, you should have the BALLS to accept email in return instead of blocking those you have the audacity to ridicule.

And NO, I don't care about the poor little diamond miners.  Sorry!
