Stair tread or stair nose?

Question

I'm just wonderng if anyone has experience on using stair nose vs the whole tread. We are going to install bamboo floors and one tread is costing $140 vs a stair nose is only $40. Pros and cons?

get the nose. it will work fine. we did it at my fathers house. looked great and held up for years. plus if it does get damaged it will be easier to replace.
