  1. Basically by 1917 the people of Europe were asking WHY they were fighting and dying in what was a pointless war. They saw their kings or Emperors were living in luxury and the people wanted freedom, Also the countries were worn out from fighting and becoming poor and the infrastructure of there countries were falling apart, So one by one the countries in the war collapsed Russia, Romanian, Austro-Hungary and so on, they just couldn't continue with food shortages and Civil wars also with the U.S in the war the allies had a new source of money and men while the Collapse of Russia gave the Germans a chance to win the war in 1917, But they failed and their peace treaty with Russia only made the Allies more hostile towards them. It was a lot more complicated than this and in the end Peace was really only a pause before the war continued again 19 years later.......

  2. nothing, the whole war was a stale mate, 4 years later america entered and gave the Franch/British more men than the Germans
