  1. Chicken is more like it ain't it?  Let him hit you one good time and see....I bet he don't knock you out. I bet that his punch is no different than anyone elses.  Is it going to hurt? maybe then again maybe not.  Clinch your teeth tightly so that you don't end up with a scratch on your lip and just go ahead and find out.  You have to test your self and experiment and see what you can take.  Sounds to me like the "bully" kid you're not talking about here has you siked out or something.  Fight back and fight hard 9 times out of 10 he won't want to fight you again I promise you that.  When I was a little kid about 5 years old I remember asking my mom, "Mom will the shot the Doctor gives me hurt?" and my mom's reply was, "Pain is pain son it's too far from your heart to kill you."  I'll never forget those words all of my life.  "Too far from your heart to kill you" ....well the same holds true about defending yourself dude.  You can go around being afraid of some "loud mouth" or you can let him have it and show him that not everyone will bow down to him.  One thing a bully relies on and that's some mom or dad teaching thier kids not to be like him or he counts on some "Karate" instructor to tell the kid he's picking on to quote "Walk away from the fight".  The world suffers when good people stand by and do nothing dude.  Good people have the right to defend their selves.  If you're hit and it lumps up and you give oh well it's nothing that ice won't fix.  Your pride may be hurt big whoop-de-doo.  If you fight back though and get the best of the kid he'll change his tune around you real quick.  FEAR NO ONE!!!! especially their little wussy punches .... lumps are lumps a cut is a cut a little blood is a little blood none of this isn't something that can't be fixed rather easily.  Being scared of being hit makes me want to smack the parents of all people that are afraid of being hit.  Pain is pain you're going to feel pain in life one way or the other all of your life trust me on that one.  Light that dude up and as your fighting even if you get hit you won't even feel it because you'll be too pumped to notice he hit you in the first place. Stop being so d**n timid and and take an a** whipping if you must, but by all means fight back and fight hard.  I blame the "liberal" moms and dads out there with their knee pads, elbow pads and bicycle helmets every time their kid rides a bike for this "femenization" of our American youth.  They should be shot!!!

  2. no one like to be hit hard. it's about controlling your fear. It is a mental training exercise. you can control your fear better by facing it. by doing contact sport such as boxing, kick boxing.

Or iron shirt or iron jacket training in styles such as southern praying mantis, choylayfut. When you lack the confidence, put more hours into your training, increase your skill level.

easier said than done, but it is possible. You have to do it gradually. If you get expose to a hit by someone like

Anderson Silva, then, you would most likely to give up martial art altogether.  watch how muai thai fighter trains.

You can not fight if you are worry about how much it will hurt if you get hit. pain is part of the game.

In Choylayfut and southern praying mantis, they condition you gradually, you become tougher as you get to higher level. You get used to the pain. Pain become your friend.  I sound strange , but it is like that. For the first 3 months, you asked yourself what am i doing here? are these pains going to be worthit? But if you hand on, after a period of time, your body will adjust to the rough condition, your mind will become stronger. Just like every fighters when they first start off.

  3. That's a bit of a misunderstanding of stamina you have there. Stamina is the measurement of endurance. While technically with extreme concentration it IS possible to build your stamina to a point where you will not feel pain, that's left for the pro body builders who pump up on steroids to increase body mass at an extreme level. (Hence in cartoons you always see the little guy being able to do little damage to the buff guy)

So the usual solution would be to build your body the best you can, to stiffen your nerves, and that should be the best you can do. If you want to stop worrying about your opponents strength, mentally, it's better that your training is more focused on avoiding physical contact. (being fast enough to dodge) Combine that with a averagely built body, you should have the confidence of fighting your aggressor then.

  4. When you next spar wear gloves for protection, start off with light contact then add the amount of contact used. Allow your partner to hit hard to the body and gradually hit harder and harder to the face. by the end of the sparring I bet that getting hit will not faze you at all.
