Stand Of Glory leads the line-up of the Sapper Conditions Stakes
The Class 3 Sapper Conditions Stakes has brought together a limited but highly versatile line-up for the five furlong race at Ripon on Tuesday, 28th August. Three of the five two-year-old runners who are up for the challenge have posted a success through their very last race while one of them will race his career debut today. The winner has been promised the prize money of £5,671.
The only entry who has raced beyond clearing the hat-trick is the two-year-old bay gelding, Shrimper Roo. He cleared the maiden on 4th August, 2012 in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes at Thirsk over five furlongs.
With Duran Fentiman onboard, the duo won by the margin of a neck.
Byron’s gelding had his next stop in the Come Racing At Beverley Next Saturday Nursery on 26th August, 2012 at Beverley over five furlongs. The start proved unlucky as Shrimper Roo ended sixth while the race was won by, Star Up In The Sky.
Another note worthy entry in the field is the two-year-old bay colt, Stand Of Glory. He is being relied upon heavily due to the commendable trainer he is supervised by, David Simcock.
The American colt missed the first asking of the career to clear the maiden on 24th July, 2012 at Ffos Las in the 32Red.com Maiden Stakes over five furlongs.
The favourite entry, Red Exploere, defeated the runner-up, Vincentti, by just half a length.
Oasis Dream’s son then made the most out of the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing EBF Maiden Stakes on 13th August, 2012 at Thirsk over five furlongs.
The favourite entry had Martin Lane onboard and upon the insistence of the jockey, the ride responded over one furlong out breaking the maiden by the margin of 2 ½ lengths.
Missing the chance was, Dance Off.
After becoming the mount for jockey, Martin Lane twice, the two-year-old will race with Paul Hanagan during the third outing of the season.
The James Given trained, Girl At The Sands, will race with jockey, Graham Lee, and has just cleared the maiden at Southwell. Tumblewind is another entry to look out for as he just cleared the maiden through the third try.
