Stand by tickets?

i know somebody who got us standby tickets for 4 people. we are flying on the 10th of july. does anybody know if there is a maximum number of tickets they are allowed to hand out? we would like one more..

  1. i'm allowed to give 8 guest passes per year through  my affiliation with us airways. they're not free, but it's less than a ticket costs.
