Standard distance for poles in the stakes race (the speed event)??

What is the standard distance to set the 2 poles apart in the stakes race? Like, for pole bending the poles are 21 feet apart, but what is the distance for the stakes race? I just need to set up the pattern to practice but I don't know how many feet apart to set them.Thanks!

I believe it varies depending on the arena.

If you're referring to the western speed event at open shows/gymkhanas, then I compete in it a lot. And I show at various arenas all different sizes, and there has always been one on the end and one about 20ft from the time line.

As long as there is some distance between the poles you should be able to practice just fine. :)
