  1. I assume you are referring to the United States Postal Service (USPS) Flat Rate Shipping Service. If so, there are some choices ...

    1) Express Mail. Flat Rate Envelope (12.5" x 9.5").

    2) Priority Mail. Flat Rate Envelope (12.5" x 9.5"). Flat Rate Box (11" X 8.5" X 5.5"), or Flat Rate Box (11-7/8" x 3-3/8" x 13-5/8").

Delivery times: For Express Mail, USPS lists the shipping time as "Overnight to most areas". But, providing the zip-codes for the two locations, USPS shows a "Service Commitment" of 2 Days.

For Priority Mail, using the zip-codes for the two locations, USPS shows delivery time of 2 days. It is usually accurate within one day. Priority Mail delivery can take from 3 to 5 days, and in isolated cases it can take longer. There is no guaranteed delivery time for Priority Mail.

I used these zip-codes for delivery information: Origin ZIP Code: 50588 (STORM LAKE, IA), Destination ZIP Code: 35023 (BESSEMER, AL).

For more information, or for other origins/destinations, you can visit the USPS website at usps.com.

To calculate postage or quote delivery times:

    1) Go here:

    http://www.usps.com/tools/calculateposta...

    2) Click Calculate Domestic Postage, or Calculate International Postage. There is also a choice for Calculate Business Postage, but this is for shipping larger volume of mail such as bulk mail or pre-sort mail.

    3) Select the package type, and enter the weight.

    4) For Domestic mail, enter the From and To zip-codes.

    5) For International mail, select the destination country.

    6) Depending on destination, package type and weight, there may be additional questions such as package shape and dimensions.

For guaranteed delivery time for Express Mail, go here: http://webapps.usps.com/expressmailcommi... and enter the zip-codes.
