  1. if you can do a round of back tuck into the pit being able to land on your feet before they touch the foam (e.g finshing off the back tuck with plenty of time before you land into the pit) then yes you can try it on the floor making sure you have a spotter, and extra landing matts under neath you!

if not then keep practising until you feel extreemely compfortable doing it into the pit

  2. SET, TUCK. Is what I think of, to have a solid standing back tuck. You need a really aggressive jump. Most reasons girls don't have a back tuck, is not because they're not strong, but they don't have a quick jump. Also the tighter the tuck, the faster you'll rotate. I don't grab my legs, but some say it helps to grap under the legs, never on top of the legs. Work with spot, a few times on the floor. For conditioning, practice tuck-ups so that you'll soon get your back tuck.

  3. if you have a round off backhandspring on floor then you have a round off tuck. you just set high and bring your knees to your chest. i only say this because i didnt set my first time on the floor tho i did on the tumble track and it killed my ankles. i now find round off tucks easier than round off handsprings and its actually fun to go as high as i do
