Stanislav Donets wins Men’s 50m backstroke title – FINA Swimming World Cup, Singapore
Stanislav Donets of Russia won gold medal of the Men’s 50m backstroke on second day of the final stop of the 2012 FINA/Arena Swimming World Cup Series in Singapore, Asia on Sunday, November 11.
The Russian swimmer lived up to the expectations of his supporters by capturing the title of the shortest backstroke discipline. He remained prominently ahead of his opponents in the 50m discipline and reached the finishing blockade for first position.
With his notable efforts, Donets remained two arm-strokes ahead of his toughest challenger and surfaced on the finishing wall for gold medal with a wonderful timing of 23.22 seconds.
His title claiming effort remained 0.29 seconds faster from Ashley Delaney of Australia, who followed him on the finishing blockade for silver medal by producing a nice effort of 23.51 seconds.
The second position holder was followed by Robert Hurley of Australia, who stayed only 0.16 seconds slower from his former finisher and surfaced on the finishing end for third position by producing a time of 23.67 seconds.
Hurley was chased by Vinicius Kleinert of Brazil, who stayed 0.96 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end as fourth best finisher by clocking a time of 24.63 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Benjamin Edmonds of Australia, who stayed 0.24 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and posted a time of 24.87 seconds.
Similarly, Edmonds was trailed by Alexey Rudenko of Russia, who stayed 0.15 seconds behind and concluded his swim in sixth fastest place by producing an effort of 25.02 seconds.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was obtained by Zach Ong of Singapore, who stayed 1.64 seconds slower and tapped the wall with the timing of 26.66 seconds.
Ong was followed by Wei Yang Malcolm Low of Singapore, who was almost 0.80 seconds slower and clocked an effort of 27.42 seconds for eighth position.
In addition, Donets was overjoyed with his gold finish in the 50m discipline and articulated that he would continue his hard work in order to exceed expectations of his supporters by continuing the same at 2012 World Championships.
