Stanislav Pukhov trounces Kim Bruun in Men’s Singles clash at European Club Championships
Russia’s Stanislav Pukhov firmly registered his supremacy in the arena when he thrashed Denmark’s Kim Bruun in the final showdown in Men’s Singles category at European Club Championships 2012 on Saturday, June 2, in Hungary.
Pukhov, who remained impressive in the entire championship, continued his winning run in the tournament and easily grabbed victory in the last match with a sensational margin.
The aggressive Russian showed his wonderful craft in the court and remained successful in beating his Danish opponent in two games while taking just 29 minutes in the court.
In the meanwhile, Bruun put up a good fight in the opening set and lost it with a decent margin. However, he could not dominate the pace of the game in the second set and lost the battle to his Russian opponent in straight games without showing a strong
resistance.
In the opening game, both men started to put up thrilling show when they played aggressive badminton and also remained close to each other for a few rallies.
However, it was Pukhov who controlled the driving seat and remained successful in creating a wonderful gap on the board until the one-minute interval.
After the mid-game break, Pukhov showed his elite skills in the court as he played with aggression this time and managed to push his rival in all corners of the court.
In in-form Russian was dominating the pace of rallies and reached at the ending phase of opening set and eventually took the game with a five-point margin of 21-16.
In the second set, Pukhov played to his maximum potential and set up a comfortable lead until the mid-game interval.
After the break, the aggressive Russian shuttler played with well while controlling the pace and also accelerated his speed at net. He took the bird early and played with variations which disturbed the flow of Bruun.
Pukhov remained quite positive and focused in game and managed to wrap up the second set with a completely one-sided 21-11 score on the board.
The in-form Pukhov grabbed victory in this final contest against Bruun by ending the match in just 29 minutes with a sensational 21-16 and 21-11 score on the board.
