Stanley Bridge set to win Handicap Hurdle
Stanley Bridge looks to be strong enough to make a big impact in the Clays Golf Centre Wrexham Tuborg Handicap Hurdle, a high-profile Class 4 contest that is going to be held at Bangor-on-dee on Friday, May 4. The action is scheduled to start at 7:00 (GMT).
For the prize cheque of £2,534, Stanley Bridge will compete against 8 rivals such as Granville Island, Valmari, Captain Paulie, J’Adhere, Drumshambo, The Weatherman, Marchand D’Argent and Swiss Art.
The Barry Murtagh-trained bay gelding has won 4 out of his total 30 starts to date, earning £10,383 as prize money. The five-year-old veteran horse accomplished all the four triumphs of his career during the last five months.
After breaking his maiden on December 22, 2011, he moved ahead to won two races in a row on February 21 and March 9. The maverick sprinter elegantly clinched top spot in his last outing on April 13----he was 3-1 favourite for that race.
This outstanding success streak has hiked the talented horse’s confidence level to a great extent. At the moment, he is carrying great winning impetus that will help him perform well in the coming contest. Stanley Bridge’s chances to thrive are as high as
93 percent.
However, Granville Island, being the hot favourite runner for the Handicap Hurdle, can disturb Stanley Bridge.
The Jennie Candlish-trained bay gelding started his career with an excellent triumph in March 2011. After registering some impressive performances for a few months, he gained another fabulous victory on April 14, 2012.
On the basis of the horse’s top spot in his last outing, the punters have staked huge sums of money on his success. Granville Island will have to demonstrate a rock-solid run in order to justify his favourite tag.
Valmari is also likely to do well in the race. Tom Symonds’ veteran mare has 6 epic triumphs to her name. After finishing first in a big race on February 18, the maverick mare earned a runner-up rank in her last start on March 22.
Though there is likely to be a rip-roaring clash in the Hurdle but Stanley Bridge will make his way towards victory convincingly. Good luck to him.
