Chins about even.  Power Ketchel.   There was a well known fighter named Ezzard Charles who beat Burley at the middleweight limit nearly knocking him out.  I would be pulling for Burley but I think Ketchel finishes the job.  Ketchel win by KO in the last round.  Great match up.

I only have second hand information on Burley, but if Eddie Futch can label Burley the best boxer he ever saw, that is a serious endorsement.  I grew up in Detroit, and tend to stay loyal to Michigan fighters.  Ketchel is one of many great Michigan boxers to make his mark on boxing, but Burley is the stuff of myth.  Everyone of note gives Burley straight A's across the board and rate him with boxing's all time greats, but I have never actually seen any tape on Charlie, so I can't really offer an educated opinion.

I will bow my head to Futch, Eddie knew more about boxers than I, and if he said Burley was the best he ever saw, that would have been enought to beat Ketchel.
