I am a new teacher and have been told about Staples Teacher Appreciation Day. I was wondering, do I have to show some sort of school ID to participate in this because I don't have one yet. If you have any details about this, please let me know.

  1. Yes - do you have a union card yet?  Are you a member of your county association?  What about National Education Association (NEA)?  A school ID card?  Your insurance card.

  2. The secret that we veteran teachers have learned - they are trying to get you in there to buy stuff.

So - You wont have to show anything - they might ask you where you work to keep up appearances.

  3. They will probably take your word for it.  If you have some kind of letter or something showing you are a teacher, that might work if someone is doubtful.

  4. I was a new teacher last year and I didn't have to show one.  I brought some letters that the school had sent me as some proof, but they did not ask for it.
